Measurement in Math!

We have started learning about measurement in math.  Students are learning to measure using non-standard units (e.g., snap cubes, math links, markers, crayons, counters) to measure a variety of objects.  Students have learned that it is very important to measure objects accurately and carefully.  They have communicated their results (e.g.This book is 10 snap cubes long).

Students can have fun measuring at home.  They can use non-standard measuring units (e.g., Q-tips, pencils, crayons, post-it notes).  They can measure how tall or how long an object is (e.g., kitchen table, television)  An example is our kitchen table is 20 pencils long.

We look forward to having more fun with measurement!  :)
