Scientists in the School Workshop :)

We were very lucky to have a great workshop from Scientists in the School on Thursday, April 16. We learned all about bugs.  The name of the workshop was Backyard Bugs.  The description of the  workshop is below:

‘Bee’ an entomologist! Meet the insect family and discover their unique anatomy. Develop a new appreciation of bugs by investigating how bugs behave, eat, see and smell. Help a butterfly play hide and seek using camouflage. See the world through the eyes of a dragonfly. Identify interesting backyard bugs and make an insect to take home.

Students really enjoyed getting the hands-on experiences through 4 different learning stations.  Check out some of our pictures below:

Students had the opportunity to create their very own insect as well as learn about their body parts.
Students were able to research about different insects.
Students learned more about butterflies and created their very own butterfly.

Students were able to look at pictures with the microscopes.
